Around St Quay-Portrieux

We have been here a couple of days now and are getting to know our surroundings, with visits to the supermarket for basics and, of course, some wine; walks around the harbour; and coffee in the local hostelries. There was a market day in Portrieux on Monday morning so we took a good look round with D,S&C. S bought lots of stuff for us, it was great fun and very busy! M&N have arrived, too after the weekend and have settled in.

This is where we are staying

Today, D&S met up with Pierre et al, so the rest of us took Callum for a stroll along the Revenue man’s footpath to Pirate Beach for lunch. It is not very warm but we had a nice time, lunching at the beach café. A, M and N went rock pooling while C and I looked on. We couldn’t get the pushchair down on the beach very easily. Anyway, C had a cosy snooze under the waterproof cover as it was a bit wet and windy.

A bit bleak on the beach

We were invited to S's Aunt and Uncle's for 'aperitif' which we really enjoyed, but it was more like a buffet supper! No dinner required!
